The Aguda
The Association for the Protection of Individual Rights, a pioneer among LGBTQ+ organizations in Israel, serves as the umbrella organization for the LGBTQ+ community in Israel. It promotes human rights and represents the LGBTQ+ community across the country. The Association is a non-profit organization based on volunteer work, committed to identifying the community’s needs and providing high-quality, professional responses to those needs—across all sectors of the community, throughout Israel, and for all its residents without discrimination.
Mission
The Association for LGBTQ+ Equality in Israel has worked since its founding to promote full equal rights, well-being, and security for the entire LGBTQ+ community. We work to advance the legal, judicial, and social status of LGBTQ+ people as an integral and equal part of Israeli society. We support the development of community and social initiatives, provide professional support services, and make resources accessible to marginalized and underserved populations across the country.
Vision
We believe in a society where the LGBTQ+ community is fully equal to the general population, lives with personal safety, and is free from persecution and violence. A society where LGBTQ+ individuals are meaningfully represented in centers of power and influence. A society in which LGBTQ+ people act in solidarity to realize the goals of all its members. The integration of LGBTQ+ individuals will lead to a more diverse, democratic, equal, and progressive society.
